“What did you want to be when you grew up?” Jimmy asked her.
     “Grown. I wanted to be grown.”
     Aunt Crane dropped the skirt and clothespins she held back into the clothes basket and looked at Jimmy with a hard expression.
     “Where I come from, that was the best you could hope for. And didn’t always get that.”
